Mental Health

Stronger Minds, Safer Jobsites

Placing an emphasis on mental health education helps reinforce a culture where employees feel supported both on and off the jobsite. When workers are encouraged to prioritize their mental health, they are more engaged, more aware of their surroundings, and more likely to intervene when a coworker may be struggling. Just as safety training teaches employees how to prevent injuries and protect their bodies, mental health awareness equips them with tools to recognize warning signs, reduce stigma, and access resources before challenges become crises. AGC Georgia remains committed to supporting its members by promoting education and resources that strengthen not only physical safety, but the minds and lives of the people who build our communities.

As part of this commitment, AGC Georgia is a proud partner of the Georgia 988 Lifeline initiative, a statewide effort focused on meeting the mental health needs of construction professionals where they are. Developed in partnership with industry leaders, this program provides free, confidential, 24/7 access to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, along with training and awareness resources designed specifically for construction jobsites. By helping companies recognize warning signs, reduce stigma, and connect workers to support before challenges escalate, we are ensuring that mental health is recognized as an essential part of building safer, stronger construction teams across Georgia.
