Georgia’s construction industry and AGC Georgia have thrived thanks to the strength of visionary leaders. To ensure continued success, it’s essential that the next generation is well-prepared to face the challenges and seize the opportunities of a rapidly evolving industry.
That’s why AGC Georgia’s Young Leadership Program (YLP) is recognized by members and industry leaders as one of the most valuable offerings available to today’s construction firms. The program provides rising professionals with opportunities to grow their leadership skills, deepen their understanding of AGC Georgia, and build lasting relationships through networking with peers from across the industry.
Beyond professional development, YLP is a cornerstone of AGC Georgia’s commitment to community service. Program participants lead major fundraising efforts and volunteer their construction expertise to support a wide range of causes that benefit children, students, families, and veterans throughout the state.

YLP focuses on maximizing the leadership potential of young industry professionals to benefit them personally, as well as their employer, the AGC organization as a whole, and the Georgia's construction industry.
AGC Georgia members and staff proudly support students seeking a construction management degree at the following institutions:
Nearly 200 AGC Student Chapters exist nationwide at accredited two-and four-year schools offering programs in construction management, construction tech, and construction-related engineering. Membership in an AGC Student Chapter provides college students with an opportunity to learn, observe and develop their skills with current leaders in the commercial construction industry. Student Chapters are supported in a variety of ways at both the local and national AGC level.
In addition to AGC Georgia student chapters engaging in numerous on-campus activities on their own, AGC Georgia helps connect student leaders with industry who inturn provide field trips to construction projects, sponsor guest speakers, provide dinner for student meetings, and deliver programs by young professionals offering “real-world” advice about working in the industry.
More information about Student Chapters, typical activities they engage in on campus and with local AGC Chapters, student member benefits, steps on how to start a student chapter, a list of AGC student chapters across the U.S., and an AGC Student Chapter Officer’s Guide are available on AGC of America’s website at www.agc.org.
AGC Georgia members interested in becoming more involved and volunteering your time with one or more of the AGC Georgia Student Chapters are encouraged to reach out to AGC Georgia at 678.298.4100.
Student Membership in YLP
The group’s governing Council works hard to plan activities that help members develop stronger leadership skills, learn more about the AGC organization, network with other young construction professionals, and begin developing life-long industry relationships. To enroll in YLP and receive full benefits, each of these professionals pays a $600 membership.
Members of AGC Georgia Student Chapters associated with Georgia’s collegiate construction management programs are offered YLP membership for $25 per year. This membership offers them the same benefits as a regular YLP member, less the complimentary registration to our Annual Convention each June or our Fall Leadership Conference offered each October.
When an AGC Georgia Student Chapter member graduates, they will be offered the opportunity to maintain their YLP membership for $100 per year if they accept employment at a firm that is NOT an AGC Georgia member. If they gain employment by an AGC Georgia member, we must yield to the preference of that firm’s executive team as to whether they will offer the recent graduate the opportunity to continue membership in YLP at the full member company rate.
